Hawk Haven at GHS

At GHS, all students have the ability to take a break if needed. Hawk Haven, a dedicated area in the main office, is designed for students to take a few minutes to collect themselves if they feel stressed or overwhelmed. Individual activities provided by our mental health staff are available.

To use, students need to let their teacher know a break is needed and check in with one of the building secretaries. Students are permitted to use Hawk Haven for up to ten minutes before heading back to class. If students need longer, then the school counselor, social worker, or other adult meets with the student to determine what additional supports are needed.

If you have any questions about Hawk Haven, please reach out to our school counselor, Erika Freds, or our school social worker, Kelsey Henry, at 989-426-7341.
