Cedar River Crayfish Study

Zoology students recently did their annual Cedar River invasive rusty crayfish survey on Tuesday, October 12th. Students collected crayfish at 4 locations of the river collecting size, population and sex data. Results are compared to previous years to monitor population dynamics of these incredibly invasive and now completely dominant species. We did not catch a single native crayfish species this year.

Students caught just over 700 crayfish and not wanting to release them of course, made a fine meal of them.
