Meet Our New Staff!

This year Gladwin Junior High has five new faces. Some are new to our district, and some to the Junior High. We are excited to have these educators as part of the Gladwin Junior High Team!

Bryan Randle (Top Left) has taught at Gladwin Schools for 23 years and has over 20 years of experience coaching girls and boys basketball. A Gladwin native, Mr. Randle, comes to us from the Intermediate school. Mr. Randle enjoys hunting, coaching, and hanging out with his friends and family. Mr. Randle enjoys the TV show M*A*S*H and the Top Gun movies! Mr. Randle wants you to know that "teaching has always been a part of my life as I grew up in a teaching family.  I thoroughly love kids and watching them become the students and adults they grow up to be.  It's an honor to work in the same district I attended many years ago.  My wife works for Gladwin, and our kids attend Gladwin as well.  My family comes first, but I'm always willing to help others." Mr. Randle will primarily be teaching 8th grade English

Buddy Goldsworthy (Top Right) has been a Gladwin coach for over 20 years, mostly in wrestling, track, and cross country. Buddy has worked for the last 23 years as a director of a company that works for persons with disabilities. Another Gladwin native, Buddy, is excited to work with new teammates. Buddy loves anything to do with sports and working with Gladwin athletes. Buddy has two daughters, the oldest, who will be starting her career as a Flying G this year! Mr. Goldsworthy will primarily be teaching physical education.

Cody Cooper (Bottom Left) is a huge Detroit sports fan, especially the Red Wings. He enjoys camping and gardening in his free time. Mr. Cooper is originally from Harrison and comes to us after working as the Athletic trainer for the last two years at Midland High School. Mr. Cooper is excited to be a positive role model for the students and create a safe, supportive environment that makes teaching effective and fun. Mr. Cooper's favorite book is Lord of the Flies, his favorite TV show is The Office, and his favorite movie is Miracle on Ice. Mr. Cooper wants you to know, "I am very excited about this new chapter in life. I have a lot to learn still, but I feel I will bring a fresh perspective to teaching and look forward to being a Flying G!" Mr. Cooper will Primarily be teaching 6th-grade science.

Mr. Demory (Bottom Middle) grew up in Pine River, but for the last 24 years he has been teaching and coaching at Mio Schools. Mr. Demory is excited that his two-hour and 45-minute round trip has turned into a five-minute drive! Mr. Demory enjoys coaching, traveling, watching sports, exercising, reading, playing fantasy football, listening to music, and teaching. Mr. Demory's favorite book is Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambrose, he enjoys watching football, and his favorite movie is a toss-up between Forest Gump and Saving Private Ryan. Mr. Demory will primarily be teaching 8th grade U.S. History.

Val Bruner (Bottom Right) is our final new teacher. Mrs. Bruner is a Gladwin native who most recently worked for Beaverton Schools. Mrs. Bruner brings 18 years of teaching experience with her. Mrs. Bruner is excited to begin working with her new 6th-grade team and students! Mrs. Bruner loves young adult literature such as The Hunger Games and the Divergent series. Mrs. Bruner has two boys who attend Gladwin. After school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her yellow lab! Mrs. Bruner will primarily be teaching 6th Grade Social Studies.
