
Just a reminder that tomorrow is the first day of school for the 2024-2025 school year. We look forward to seeing our students! Tomorrow is a half day of school. School starts at 8:05 and dismissal is at 11:30. Tuesday-Friday are full days of school with start time of 8:05 and dismissal at 3:01.

Thanks to the generous donation from Jim Looker, students at Gladwin Junior High School were provided with glasses to safely observe the recent solar eclipse, marking the last occurrence of such an event in the United States until 2044.






Congratulations to two of our Outdoor Education students as they made it to our Top Ten list in Archery. Jackson scored a 42/50 and Braedon scored a 44/50, putting him at the top of the all time top ten list!

Gladwin Junior High students participated in a school wide Rock, Paper, Scissors contest today! Congratulations to Elizabeth for winning the entire contest, and a gift certificate to Northern Expresso!









GJHS Students were able to visit out local library yesterday!










8th grade students decorated Christmas placemats to give to our local nursing homes!



Exciting week in 8th-grade science! Our students dove into the fascinating world of sound waves . From understanding vibrations to exploring how sound travels, they're now equipped with a whole new level of knowledge!

On November 2nd, students that earned all As on their first marking period report card were treated to a Pizza Lunch at Mr. M's Pizza and Lounge. Thank you to Mr. M's staff for this along with our additional sponsors of Senator Hauck, Representative Hoadley, and Representative Shuette. The students enjoyed the recognition.

Today our 7th & 8th Grade Concert Band presented a miniconcert for the preschoolers in the district. They performed a few Halloween themed songs and each instrumental group demonstrated their instruments for the younger children.


We will make an announcement so do not share the information with children yet.

Gladwin Schools along with Clare and Gladwin Sheriff's Departments and Gladwin City Police conducted lockdown drills in all the buildings today. Things went wonderfully smoothly and our students and staff are well-prepared for a situation requiring us to lockdown.

It's not quite the X-Men, but our 8th grade science class has been working on mutations this week!

Gladwin Junior High will be having their Back to School Open Houses on August 15 & 16 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. Students will be able to pick up their schedules, try out their lockers, meet teachers, and see their classrooms. We look forward to seeing everyone!


Welcome Daniel Jacob Shearer to the GJH family. Daniel was born July 2 weighing 9 pounds 4 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Congrats to Jake and Ashlee!



Good morning Flying G families. Due to a situation in Beaverton involving a shooting, we will be operating in secure mode within our buildings. We do not believe there is any threat to our students, this is being done in an abundance of caution. We will continue to cooperate with law enforcement and keep you posted on any updates.

Our students that have earned All As for the 4th Marking Period were treated to Subway lunch provided by Master Electric along with chips, drinks, and cookies from The Sugar Shack, Sav-A-Lot, and Family Fare. Great job students and thank you to our sponsors!






Our Junior High bands will be having their final performance of the year tonight at 6:30 at the High School. We're looking forward to another great performance!

Our 8th graders had the chance to participate in the Reality Store today to help them understand budgeting and the expenses they will have as adults. Thank you to all that helped provide this for our students.
