Our Varsity football team will be heading to Ford Field this morning in preparation for tomorrow's game. The bus will depart GHS at 9:30 a.m. Join us by lining the streets as they head south through Beaverton on their way to Detroit.
The GHS Varsity Football team visited Gladwin Elementary, Intermediate, and Junior High Schools Wednesday morning. This "mobile pep assembly" included the marching band playing the fight song through the halls with the football team following. The team got to walk through each building giving thanks for the immense support the other buildings have given them, and it gave students across the district a chance to see the players and wish them luck on Saturday. GHS plays Frankenmuth HS on Saturday for the Division 5 State Championship. Let's Go Gladwin!
This week brings us a Division 5 State Finals match up with Frankenmuth HS. The game will be in Detroit at Ford Field. Kickoff will be at 4:30 PM on Saturday, November 26th. Tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster or at the door. Cost is $18.50 + fees. Plan to get to Ford Field early, as there can typically be lines for parking and to enter the stadium. Your ticket will be good for all 4 state finals games on Saturday. Check out the Gladwin Athletics Facebook page for additional information on entering Ford Field and parking. Congratulations to our GHS football team who are now heading to the Division 5 State Championship on Saturday at Ford Field. Kickoff time is at 4:30 p.m. To celebrate, we will be having spirit days this week. Tomorrow is Blue and White Day, Tuesday is White Out Day, and Wednesday is Paint the Town Blue Day! Just a reminder that Wednesday is a half day with GHS dismissal time at 12:22 p.m.
Our Flying G’s Varsity football team will be in the Division 5 semifinal matchup with Grand Rapids Catholic Central. The contest will be at Ithaca HS on Saturday, November 19 with kickoff at 1:00 PM. The Saturday performance of CLUE is moved to 8:00pm in order to accommodate our GHS Marching Band to travel to Muskegon to support our football team at the Regional game on Saturday. We apologize for the late notice. If you require a refund for the Saturday show due to the change, full refunds are available.

Our first choir concert of the year is tomorrow! Join us on Tuesday, October 18th at 6:30 p.m. in the high school cafetorium for a great night of music from high school and junior high school students.

Our Mock Olympics assembly gets our kids pumped for our upcoming Homecoming festivities. This year we held it on the soccer field. Kids loved getting outside today and participating in this fun assembly. Ask your student about table surfing. It may be the new favorite game for GHS assemblies!
GHS is hosting a food drive this week against Clare HS with the food going to New Dawn Shelter. The school with the most food items by Thursday will win the traveling trophy at Friday's game. Students need to bring their food to 1st hr. The winning class will earn pizza or ice cream from Mrs. Brown. Let's beat Clare!
