Congratulations to GHS's All Star Band members. At the All Star Band this last weekend, Gladwin had six high school students that performed in two bands that consisted of 54 students. Thirteen school districts were represented by all the students in both bands. Students have to audition to earn their spot, and our six students represented GHS very well. Congratulations!

Mr. Verellen's Design and Engineering class has been hard at work preparing vehicles powered only by a mouse trap. Students have been experimenting and testing different designs in hopes of getting their vehicle to travel as far as possible. Students are only allowed to touch the vehicle at the starting point, and have used various materials, including CD's, string, metal rods, tape, and of course, mouse traps, to create the best performing design. They will be testing their final projects in the next few days.
The Broadcast Journalism class has been busy working on various projects to continue sharing information in an entertaining way to all the students and staff around the school. These projects include filming the daily video announcements, “Hawk Talk", as well as live streaming sporting events for the community to watch with professional looking camera angles and graphics. The class looks to continue providing professional digital content for the months and years to come.
Tomorrow starts the first day of our second semester. Please be sure to have your student check Skyward as sometimes schedules change at the semester. If they have any issues, please have them reach out to Mrs. Freds.

10:25am-12:30pm: 1st hr exam
12:30pm-1:10pm: Lunch
1:15pm-3:21pm: 2nd hr exam
Due to the schedule change, there is NO CTE TODAY.

Mark your calendars for our upcoming holiday concerts next week! Monday, December 12th, the high school symphonic band's concert is at 6:30 p.m. and the choir concert is Thursday, December 15th. Both concerts will be in our cafetorium.
Just a reminder that anyone picking up students at GHS after school MUST park in our parking lot. We are not able to have curbside parking due to cars obstructing traffic. We appreciate your help.

Our Varsity football team will be heading to Ford Field this morning in preparation for tomorrow's game. The bus will depart GHS at 9:30 a.m. Join us by lining the streets as they head south through Beaverton on their way to Detroit.
The GHS Varsity Football team visited Gladwin Elementary, Intermediate, and Junior High Schools Wednesday morning. This "mobile pep assembly" included the marching band playing the fight song through the halls with the football team following. The team got to walk through each building giving thanks for the immense support the other buildings have given them, and it gave students across the district a chance to see the players and wish them luck on Saturday. GHS plays Frankenmuth HS on Saturday for the Division 5 State Championship. Let's Go Gladwin!
This week brings us a Division 5 State Finals match up with Frankenmuth HS. The game will be in Detroit at Ford Field. Kickoff will be at 4:30 PM on Saturday, November 26th. Tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster or at the door. Cost is $18.50 + fees. Plan to get to Ford Field early, as there can typically be lines for parking and to enter the stadium. Your ticket will be good for all 4 state finals games on Saturday. Check out the Gladwin Athletics Facebook page for additional information on entering Ford Field and parking. We hope to see you at Ford Field as the Flying G’s compete for the school’s first MHSAA Football State Title!

Our Flying G’s Varsity football team will be in the Division 5 semifinal matchup with Grand Rapids Catholic Central. The contest will be at Ithaca HS on Saturday, November 19 with kickoff at 1:00 PM. The Saturday performance of CLUE is moved to 8:00pm in order to accommodate our GHS Marching Band to travel to Muskegon to support our football team at the Regional game on Saturday.
