Tomorrow is Election Day! Make sure to return your completed absentee ballot in person to your Clerk’s Office before 8 p.m. tomorrow. Or vote at the polls from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. For the May 2nd election there has been a change in voting location. All residents of Buckeye, Butman, Heritage, Hay, Sage, Secord, Sherman, Grout, and Gladwin townships, as well as The City of Gladwin will be voting on May 2nd at: Sacred Heart Activity Center 402 N. Silverleaf Gladwin, MI 48624 Arthur Township residents will vote at their normal polling location. Gladwin Community Schools, Headed in the Right Direction!


Gladwin High School's production of Little Shop of Horrors is here! Come see our students bring Skid Row to life - and death - and enjoy the hard work they've put in! Our talented students will be putting on three shows; April 28th and 29th at 7pm and April 30th at 3pm. Tickets are for sale in the office or at the door for $10 general admission and $5 for staff, students, seniors, and veterans.


Tomorrow is our MSTEP testing for all juniors. Please be sure to charge your Chromebooks tonight as they are required for the testing tomorrow morning. Students must be in their testing rooms by 8:25 a.m. with a FULLY charged Chromebook.

The district needs to make up school days due to the number of snow days we had this year. Where we originally had half days on June 1st and 2nd, please note those are now full days, and we are adding 6/5 as a full day and 6/6 as a half day. The schedule for final exams will be released the first week of May.

Tomorrow is our PSAT 9 and 10 for freshmen and sophomores. Students needs to be in their testing rooms by 8:25 a.m. Testing room assignments are posted outside the office and library. Please remember no cell phones in the testing room, get plenty of sleep, eat your breakfast, and do your best.

Reminder the Say Yes to the Dress event is happening TODAY from 9am-noon in the GHS library. FREE dresses are available to try on and take for prom and 8th grade farewell. Please come to the west end of the building to the library door entrance.

NHS will be hosting a "Say Yes to the Dress" event this Friday and Saturday at GHS as we prepare for our upcoming prom. FREE dresses and accessories will be available in the high school library during lunch and I.T. on Friday, 4/14, and from 9-noon on Saturday, 4/15. Students will be able to try on the clothing. Give the high school a call at 426-7341 with any questions.


As we get closer to the election, we want to inform everyone how the bond will impact their taxes. To calculate the impact of the bond on your taxes, take the taxable value of your home and multiply it by .0028 to find the annual cost. Gladwin's Robotics Team (9227) competed for the first time this year last weekend. The team learned a lot about engineering, mechanics, coding, themselves, and each other. 39 teams competed in qualification rounds with Gladwin's team finishing at an impressive 11th place. This feat earned the team an award for the Highest Ranked Rookie Team! The team had a great spirit and persevered through the whole event. Because of their incredible performance, the team also won the Rookie All Star Award. Team 9227's next event is this coming Thursday - Saturday in Battle Creek.

Yesterday, Mr. Donahue's classes participated in our annual tradition of boiling sap. Kids were able to put the science of making maple syrup into practice. The students had great weather and are looking forward to their pancakes with our own syrup in the coming days. Thank you to everyone who collected and brought in sap to make this a memorable experience for our kids!


Save the date for Prom 2023! It will be May 6th at the Wagarville Barn. More information will be coming out after Spring Break. NHS will host "Say Yes to the Dress" events on Friday, 4/14 at lunch and I.T. and Saturday, 4/15 from 9am-Noon in the HS library. All dresses are free. Prom questions can be directed to Shelly Vasher at msvasher@gladwinschools.net.

Reminder all CTE applications for next year are due today, including any second year CTE students! The link is on Skyward's message center and was emailed to students and parents last week. Butch is back home in Gladwin after the boys Varsity basketball team's win over Beaverton last Friday night. Members of the team and Coach Verellen traveled to Beaverton to bring him home and treated him to Northern Expresso.

Due to our snow days, Glow Ball tickets will be sold at the door. The dance is still set for Saturday, Feb 11th from 8-11pm. Tickets are $5 each.

There is a mobile food distribution happening today at the bus garage until 1:00 p.m. Anyone is welcome to come get food. Please follow the posted signage and stay in your vehicle.
