March Madness Reading competition is going great. All reading logs for this competition are due this Friday. We will crown the winner Friday.
Spring Break begins after school on Friday. Monday, March 27 – Friday April 31 no school. Students are to be back at school on Monday, April 3rd. Have a safe and relaxing week.

Read, Read, Read! March Madness Reading Competition is on. Be keeping track of the minutes read at home and return the log sheets to school.
This week the teachers will be having a meeting during the school day to go over the students most resent Acadience Data, they will be reviewing their progress and adjusting their book and math club if needed. Each class will have a substitute teacher. 5th grade will be Tuesday, 3rd grade will be Wednesday, and 4th grade will be Thursday.
Friday is St. Patrick’s Day. We will be wearing Green this day.
Popcorn Sale this Friday.

We will be having a popcorn sale this Friday.
March Madness Reading Competition begins this week. Students are to keep track of how many minutes they are reading at home each day this month. They are to bring the sheet that they have to record the minutes on to school that following Monday to have the classrooms times added together. We will see which class and which grade is reading the most. There will be class prizes for the winning classes. Enjoy the friendly competition.

We are excited to see our students again on Monday. Our next scheduled day off of school is Spring Break which begins March 27th, and students return April 3rd. We hope Mother Nature cooperates with us so we have consistent schooling for our students.
Our hallways, bathrooms and doors are in the process of being painted. Painters are painting in the evenings and over the weekends. There should not being any wet paint during the school day. Our school will look a little different while we go through this improvement. It will look nice when it is finished.

This Thursday we will be celebrating Dr. Seuss Birthday. Students can dress as their favorite Dr. Seuss character.

No School tomorrow, February 13th. This is a scheduled winter break. Our next scheduled day off is Friday, February 24th, another winter break day. I hope everyone was safe during the ice days last week. We are excited to see the students on Tuesday.
We sent home parent surveys last week or before. Please return them with your student. We do take close look at the responses we get. We have made positive changes in the past due to the responses on these surveys.
This Friday will be Blue and White Day.

Drive Safe as winter has finally decided to arrive. Students will go outside for recess in the snow as long as the feels like temperature is 10 or above. Please have them dress appropriately for the weather.
Little League asked that I send along that this season’s registration is officially open and it will remain open until February 10th. They will be having us send home flyers with registration links on it. Be looking for the flyers and more information to come.
Our next scheduled day off is Monday, February 13th. Winter Break.

This Friday is Popcorn with Parents. We will be having you look at your child’s data with your child to see the growth they’ve made and look at the goals that were set at the beginning of the school year to see how your child is doing in achieving their goal. 3rd Grade is 8:30 – 9:30 AM, 4th Grade is 10:30 – 11:30 AM, and 5th Grade is 9:30 – 10:30 AM. Parking is limited so we are asking that you leave when you are finished so the next group can arrive and park.
January 23rd and 24th are ½ days of school for Teacher Professional Development.

Back to a full week of school this week.
Report Cards were sent home on Friday. Please sign and return the white envelope they were sent home in. We plan to use the same envelopes for the 3rd and 4th marking periods.

This week we just have school on Monday. Christmas Break begins for our students on Tuesday. Enjoy your break. We are back to school on Wednesday, January 4th.

This week we have a few exciting events for our students. Last week our students did a great job with the Holiday Spirit Dress up Days, we are doing it again. Attached is the list of what to dress up with each day. Monday is Flannel Day.
Tuesday, Author Jonathan Rand is coming to our school. He will be present to our students. He was here before about 8 years ago and did a great job. He gets the our students excited about reading and writing. Attached is a flyer that we sent home if you are interested in any of his books.
Wednesday, Our local performer, Lynn Morgan, will be coming in to give our students a concert. He has been here in the past and our students have enjoyed every minute of it.
Friday is our Christmas Assembly. It will begin at 9:00 AM in our gym. Parents are invited to attend. Each classroom will be performing on stage. We are excited to be able to do this again. Our students are getting excited to put on the performance.
We have school on Monday, December 19th and Christmas Break begins on Tuesday, December 20th for our students. We are back to school Wednesday, January 4th, 2023. This is a long break from school. I encourage you to spend a little time reading with your children over Christmas Break.
This week we are also doing our mid year Benchmark Assessments with Acadience. Students will be reading with their teacher. We will be testing in both reading and math. Encourage your child to do their best.

Book Fair week. Students will have a couple of opportunities to get to the Book Fair with their classroom. You are welcome to come in and take your child also. It will be open during Bedtime Stories with Santa also. We will also have dress up days this week. Monday – Candy Cane Day (wear Red and White), Tuesday – Ugly Sweater Day, Wednesday PJ Day (wear your favorite PJ’s), Thursday – Christmas Vacation (either from the movie or as if you’re going on a vacation over the holidays), Friday – Santa Hats and Crazy socks. Book Fair closes Friday before 11:30.
We are collecting new and like new toys for Stuff the Bus/Christmas Kindness in our community. Thank you to those of you who have already brought items in. Help us help those who are in need during the holiday season.
Thank you for sending in your RSVPs for Bedtime Stories with Santa. Come in and See Santa and visit a classroom and listen to holiday stories being read to you and your children. 5:30 – 7:00 Wednesday at the Intermediate School.

Congratulations to our Varsity Football Team on winning the State Championship. Outstanding! Congratulations to all who helped them get there.

Spirit weeks as we take on Frankenmuth at Ford Field for the Division 5 State Championship


We are proud of our Varsity Football Team headed to Ford Field this Saturday to compete for the State Championship. We are showing our support and school spirit this week by wearing Blue and White on Monday. Tuesday will be a White Out by everyone wearing White. Wednesday is Paint the Town Blue by everyone wearing Blue. Good Luck to our Flying G’s.
Wednesday is a ½ Day of School. Dismissal is at 12:45. This starts our Thanksgiving Break. No school on Thursday and Friday.
